most of that is well north of san francisco and napa valley. this will sink further south, we'll get another piece of energy later on today that will spin up across the bay area and intensify the rainfall. that's what we will be watching closely. our computer models highlight that. one pulse to the north. another one fills in further to the south. it shouldn't be nearly what we saw last week. the ground is saturated. rivers are swollen. it won't take much to get more in the way of flooding. once we get past that, we are looking at a fairly dry scenario going over the next few days. today is the day. then tomorrow we'll hopefully be breathing a sigh of relief. >>> this morning intense fighting in syria outside the city of aleppo. rebel fighters trapped hundreds of government soldiers inside a military base and say they are giving them a chance to defect. this as president obama warns syrian president bashar al assad that there will be serious consequences if he uses chemical weapons against his own weapon. >> this regime is a real problem for us

the napa river near napa downtown is usually only at about 4 to 5 feet. but look what's been happening with all this rain. we saw about 1.5 inches of rain yesterday so it crested at about 18 feet. has fallen now back to about 12 feet. but with tomorrow's predicted rain it's expected to crest into a moderate flood stage. and also the russian river in gurnsville typically very low right around 5 feet. but with all of this rain expected to crest up to 35 feet come monday. if you live in those two specific locations this weather pass is for you. take heed as the rain moves in if you live in any low-lying areas or creeks or streams be prepared tonight before you head to bed. tomorrow cool jacket weather and of course umbrella weather as well. monday we'll get a few peeks of sunshine. you'll notice more showers pull back into the pictures towards tuesday and wednesday. the good news with the next system after sunday's tuesday and wednesday system does not look to pack as much a punch. we're not expecting a whole lot of flooding or wind. tomorrow will definitely

the napa -- morning. the napa river will crest earlier, lunchtime tomorrow at 18 feet. moderate flooding, 2 feet above flood stage. the only difference between the days is is there a a storm in the pipeline moving in. tonight the answer is yes. we have all of there moisture stretching from west of hawaii all the way into the west coast and northern california continues to be the bulls eye. low pressure to the northwest, the storm track heading right toward us. where's the next storm, sitting a couple hundred miles offshore. it will be with us tomorrow morning and all of northern california will be extremely wet. we're looking at rainfall totals topping out well above an inch to two inches. this is our future cast all the way through the day. santa rosa 2 more inches of rain. hayward an inch 1/3 and redwood city you will get a lot of rain as well. most falling tomorrow morning. heavy rainfall tonight. a soaker early tomorrow and it's going to move out pretty quickly and by mid afternoon we'll see clearing skies and by monday the rain will be a distant memory. oakland tom
